Maersk announces seasonal blanking on
Northern Star Service
Maersk
has announced a seasonal blanking on its Northern Star service for the Delos
Wave voyages 548S/550N, affecting sailings scheduled for November (ex APA) and
December (ex OCE). The adjustment comes in response to Christmas and New Year

To
minimize disruption, bookings will be automatically transferred to the next
available sailing. Additionally, Timaru will be induced on December 26, 2025 by

Shipping Lines abandon Transpacific as US-China trade war intensifies
The
transpacific shipping route, a vital artery for global trade, is haemorrhaging
carriers as the US – China trade war escalates, with new US port fees and
plummeting freight rates forcing both niche and major players retreat.
The
latest casualty, TS Lines, announced it will exit the Asia – US West Coast
service next month, withdrawing its sole vessel from the route. This follows
China’s Hede Shipping scaling back its transpacific exposure, with more
companies signalling similar moves as economic pressures mount.
